KVS innovation and experimentation award 2013 received by Smt. Jalaja Kumari




 Mr. B. Surendran, Librarian, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Shift II, Pattom, has received the Award from the Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri Ommen Chandy in appreciation of the commendable achievements towards Energy Conservation and Management in the category of INDIVIDUALS in the State of Kerala during the year 2011-2012.  He has done a project “The role of libraries in conservation of energy with special reference to the utilization of Solar Energy”. The award has been instituted by the Department of Power, Government of Kerala through the Energy Management Centre – Kerala and received the memento and certificate on the 14th day of December 2012 to mark the National Energy Conservation Day

Mr.B Surendran, Librarian has participated in the UGC sponsored International Education Meet            “ Education For Global Excellence” organized by Mar Theophilus Training College and Council for Teacher Education, in collaboration with Association of International Researchers of Indian Origin (AIRIO), USA; Dr. N P Pillai  Centennial Celebration Committee; Dr. K Sivadasan Pillai, Foundation and Educational Research and Development  (SPFERD) on 5th ,6th and 7th January 2012 at Mar Theophilus Training College, Nalanchira, Thiruvananthapuram-15, Kerala.
He has presented a paper entitled “Role of Librarians in Implementing Innovations in Education for Global Excellence”.

 The Principal , Shri. C.P Kumaran received  Armed Forces Flag Day Rolling trophy from the Chief minister during Independance Day celebration.

Armed Forces Flag Day was observed on 7th December and Flag Day fund was raised through the sale of flags/ stamps. The prestigious Chief Minister Rolling Trophy for educational institutions, which make the highest contributions, was awarded to our Vidyalaya for the 13th time, during the Independence Day celebrations on 15 August 2011.  Shri. C P Kumaran, Principal, received the Trophy from Shri. Oommen Chandy, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala.

Smt. Sukumari Pillai( PRT, Shift I) has been selected for National Award for teachers, 2011 under the ministry of HRD, Govet. of India.

 NCERT’s National Innovative Practices in Schools Award 2011 

  Library Junction, the online academic social network launched by Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom won the All India Competition on Innovative Practices and Experiments in Schools and Teacher Education Institutions, 2011 conducted by NCERT, New Delhi.

The project ( was conceived as an online academic collaborative learning platform where the students can ask curriculum related questions to expert faculty members and clear their doubts. The network combines all the popular social networking features through which the members can communicate with each other, express their views and ideas, discuss issues related to different subject areas, share links, do wiki projects, download study materials and e-books and create sub groups on books, authors and themes. The network has more than 800 members and now opens to all students.

The award, consisted of a citation and Rs.20,000/-, was received by C.P.Kumaran, Principal and  S.L.Faisal, Librarian and coordinator of the project from Prof. G. Ravindra, Director, NCERT at the National Seminar in New Delhi.

NCERT New Delhi has selected the project of  Shri. Faisal S.L, Librarian of the Vidyalaya under the competition for Innovation and Experimentation programme of National seminar on 25th and 26th April 2011.

3 students of our Vidyalaya have been selected for scholarship under KVPY scheme. 
Adarsh, John Abraham,  Sivaramkrishnan, Divyashree, Joffred of our school got selection at IIT
Vinay Deekshith  of our school got selection for NDA. 
Vivek , ANupama Santhosh   of our school  got admission  for B.Tech in  NIT 
Kumari. Aswathy Venugopal of Class IX participated the Rajiv Gandhi Student Research Fellowship 2011 conducted jointly by Rajiv Gandhi Center for Biotechnology, Trivandrum and Christ Nagar group of institutions. She completed a research project, which began on 9.5.2011 and lasted 3 weeks.  She received a fellowship of Rs. 4000 
Neeraj R of class X won Ist Prize in  Agricultural Quiz organized by Agri-Friends India ,Trivandrum. He received a cash award of Rs. 1000 and a trophy


The A Sandeep memorial Award for the best outgoing student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom for 2010-11 was awarded to SALINI JOHNSON ( Shift I) and RAHUL RADHAKRISHNAN ( Shift II). The Award carrying purse of Rs. 5000 was instituted by the alumni association of the School.

The Awards were presented by association president and Commissioner for Rural Development Dr. A Jayathilak.

School Principal, C.P Kumaran and alumni association treasurer and retired Additional Secretary Kalachoodan were also present at the award function.

                                         BOOK RELEASING CEREMONY 
Prof. O.N.V.Kurup, Malayalam poet and Gyanpith winner released the book, “Marunnupurattan vendi murivundakkunnayal”  (Malayalam, Chinta Publications, Trivandrum, Rs.40/-) written byAmmu (Gayathri), Class IX C (Shift-I) on 19th April 2011 at Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom. The book has been termed as a 12 year girl’s reminiscence on God, religion, secularism and the present day society. The function was presided over by famous Malayalam writer Shri. Perumbadavam Sreedharam. Mr. C.P.Kumaran, Principal, KV Pattom received the first copy from O.N.V.Kurup. The book was reviewed by Sri. V.K.Joseph, Vice Chairman, Kerala Chalachitra Akademi. The author, Kumari Gayathri shared her experiences on writing the book. Shri. Rajesh Chirappad, sub editor, Chitha Publications, delivered the vote of thanks.





Kumari .Aysha Nizamudeen received Cash Award

Kumari .Aysha Nizamudeen scored 100 marks in Biology AISSCE 2010 and qualified to receive a cash award of Rs. 20000/- from Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. She is currently doing MBBS in Alleppey Medical College.  


Students won prizes in the Competition organized by British Council              

Our students participated in the competition organized by the British Council Association of British Scholars, Trivandrum on “Climate change through the Arts” on 30th ,31st March & 1st April 2011 at Musium Auditorium. Kumari. Gayathri S Pillai got the second prize in painting and won.Two teams participated in the quiz competition and won prizes. Aravind M R and Neeraj Rof class X won the IInd prize. Shyam B Unnithan and Jayakrishnan of class XII got the 3rd position 




Niranjana Warrier of class XII is  one among the 20 finalists in the International competition held by the Russian Space Agency and the UNESCO


Niranjana Warrier of class XII has been selected as one among the 20 finalists in the International competition held by the Russian Space Agency and the UNESCO head quarters. This was conducted celebrating the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s Space mission.
The participants had to go through 3 stages involving Quiz, Olympiad and preparation of projects. Niranjana will be shortly leaving for Paris for presenting her project. The
selected 5 finalists will go to Baikonur in Russia to watch the launch of a space craft. 
KVPY Scholarship 
Master Sivaramakrishnan, XII E and Master Adarsh of XII B have been declared successful to get award with KVPY Scholarship.

 Aiswarya Nandakumar of Class X secured the 5th rank in the MaRRs International Spelling Bee Competition 2009-10 held at Nexus International School, Putragaya, Malaysia. She was awarded with a merit certificate and cash prize of $ 222.

On 15th of August, 2012 the 66th Independence Day was celebrated by both the shift K.V Pattom in a benefitting manner. National flag was hosted and the IndependenceDay message was given by the retiring teachers. Speeches in Hindi and English weregiven by both primary and secondary section students of both the shifts. Patriotic songs were sung by the students. Sweets were distributed to the gathering


 The Investiture Ceremony for Primary Section was conducted on 06.07.2012. The Badges were distributed to the council members by Sri. Ashok Kumar IAS.

The Investiture ceremony of KV Pattom Shift I was conducted on 3rd July, 2012.  Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Member of Parliament was the chief Guest of the day. The programme began at 11. a.m with a prayer. After welcome address by the Principal, a student  of XII highlighted the works and achievements of Dr. Shashi Tharoor. The investiture ceremony was formally inaugurated by Dr.Shashi Tharoor by lighting the lamp. The school captain and school vice captain received their badges from the Chief Guest and the Principal Mrs. B.S. Valsala Kumari. The School House Captains, the School house vice captains, the House CCA  captains and House CCA Vice captains  were invested with the badges by the respective House Masters. And the Head Mistress gave away the badges to the House Prefects . the Oath was administered to the student leaders by Dr. Shashi Tharoor. The programme came to a close with the inspiring words of the chief guest followed by vote of thanks by Mr. R. John (PGT Comm).

FAREWELL TO Smt. THULASI BHAI MADAM, TGT(SKT) retiering on 31.05.2012

The School has bid grand farewell to Principal Shri. C P Kumaran sir on 30.04.2012 in the occasion of his superannuation. Teachers, students, PTA members and VMC members has expressed their view, love, affection and respect on this occasion.


The Programme IRIS- Initiative for Research and Innovative in Science was conducted on 24th April 2012 in the Resource Room at 1.00pm. The programme was attended by the students of Classes VI to X. The Resource Person Mrs. Hannah from Bangalore was welcomed by the School Principal, Shri.C.P Kumaran. Mrs Hennah informed the students about IRIS Registration and formalities. Many projects done by the students at the International fair was shown to students, including a short video clipping. Further Mrs. Hennah explained the elements needed for a good project. Topics like project, Data Book , Log Book, Abstract, Research Paper, Photographs, charts etc were discussed.Towards the end of the programme, students had interaction with Mrs. Hennah. On the whole, the programme was able to kindle the scientific temper among students as well as motivate them to participate. 

Co-Curricular Activities - Inauguration (Shift I)

For the academic year 2012-13 the school is divided into four houses- Cauveri, Ganga, Krishna and Narmada. The house captains and prefets were reflected and they assumed their post. The co-curricular activities started on25-04-12. Prof. G.N Panicker, Public Relations Officer of the Governor of Kerala was the Chief Guest. He inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp and giving an inspiring speech. This was followed by the solo song competition. Every Saturday during CCA periods children assemble house wise and literary and cultural competitions are conducted.

Reader's Club

Reader’s club and Library Media Center, celebrated the World Book & Copy Right Day( April 23) in a grand manner. An Inter School Library Quiz was conducted on 20.04.2012. A book exhibition (M/s Scholastic India Ltd) was arranged in the School. The celebration of World Book and Copy Right Day and the inauguration of Reader’s club activities for the academic year 2012-13 was arranged in the Library on 25.04.2012. Shri. Ezachery Ramachandran, famous  Malayalam poet was the Chief Guest of the function. He interacted with our students and answered the questions asked by them. The prizes for the competition conducted by the Reader’s club on different occasions were given away by the Chief Guest. 

 Literary Competition

On 20.04.2012 conducted an Inter School (Shift I & Shift II, KV Pattom) Literary competition. Prizes were given away by the Chief Guest Shri. Ezhacherry Ramachandran during the function arranged by the Reader's club on 25.04.2012.He addressed the students of Class X & XII and spoke about " Life- What we can do for helping the poor". He had a wonderful speech with anecdotes and incidents quoted from his own experience.  

Charity Club

12 students along with stff members visited the Regional Cancer Centre, Thiruvananthapuram on 18th April 2012 and donated an amount of Rs. 6000/- contributed by our students for purchasing medicine to the four patients of RCC. 

Madhuram Malayalam

PTA of Shift II  has organized 5 day short term class to learn Malyalam by inviting famous literary personalities in Malayalam in a grant manner. Many learned personalities handled clases in a befitting manner.

National Environment Awareness Programme

 As  part of National Environment Awareness Programme, Eco club of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom organized rally on 29.02.2012 in the presence of Shri. C.P Kumaran, Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom.. The topic was “ Forests For Sustainable Livelihoods” Dr. K K Ramachandran, Member Secretary KSCSTE, flagged off the ceremony. Dr. Sabu G, Director( Research), Centre For Environment & Development, spoke on that occasion about the importance of forest in our life. The programme was sponsored by Ministry Of Forest & Environment, Govt.Of India.

National Science Day Celebration 

National Science Day- 2012 was celebrated on 27th February 2012. The focal theme was "Clean Energy Options Nuclear Safety". The programme was inaugurated by Shri. E J Zakaria, Sr. Scientist, CESS for Shift I and Shri. Ajit Prabhu, Deputy Director, Sasthrabhavan for Shift II. Various competitions like Debate, Quiz, Poster writing were conducted on the same day.

Awareness programme on Biodiversity and Climate change

The state level inaugural function of the awareness programme on ‘Biodiversity and Climate change’ was conducted in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom on 24-2-2012. The awareness programme is jointly organized by Department of Environment and CISSA (Centre for innovation in Science and Social Action) in participation with National Green Corps. The programme was inaugurated by Sh. James Varghese IAS, Principal Secretary, Dept. of Environment, Govt. of Kerala.


In his inaugural address he urged the students to actively participate in concrete measures to preserve biodiversity and to resist climate changes. Prof. C.K.Peethambaran, Director,CISSA &former Dean, Kerala Agricultural University delivered felicitation speech and Dr. K G Ajith Kumar,District co-ordinator-National Green Corps & Organising Secretary of the programme introduced the objectives of the awareness programme. Sh. C.P.Kumaran, Principal, K.V,Pattom was also  present in the function and Mr. Jyothimohan N.V (PGT Chemistry),the event Coordinator, anchored the programme. In the technical session, Dr.A.BijuKumar, Secretary, CISSA& Head of the Dept., Aquatic Biology, University of Kerala enlightened the audience with Power Point presntations on the secrets of Biodiversity. The poster/flex exhibition on various aspects of Biodiversity which was organized as part of the programme, was visited by students in large numbers.

World Thinking Day

The World Thinking Day- 22nd February, the birthday of both Shri Baden Powel and his wife Mrs. Olive Baden Powel, the founder of scouts and guides movement was celebrated with all its glory by the Vidyalaya. The programme began by garlanding the portraits of both Mr. and Mrs.Baden Powel. A cub from the primary section a guide from the secondary section spoke on the importance of celebrating World Thinking Day. It was followed by an All Faith Prayer.

Agricultural Campaign

SPICMACAY organized gitar programme of Dr. Kamala Shankar, a renowned exponent of Indian Classical Guitar & Vocal music, is the first lady Guitar Artist to have enthralled the world through her immaculate, and melodious rendition of music. She is known for her tremendous control and versatility on her instrument. 

The School celebrated KVS Foundation day in a grant manner. Certificates were distributed to the meritorious students.
A craft exhibition was conducted by the Vidyalaya in the Primary wing on 15th December 2011. Items prepared by the students were displayed.

Shift II celebrated the 8th Annual Day on 20th December and Shift I celebrated on 48th Annual  Day on 21st December.  The Chief Guests on the occasion were Shri.D Babu Paul IAS, Retd. Additional Chief Secretary and Shri. Venogopal K Nair, IPS, ADGP respectively. Prizes for proficiency and co-curricular activities were given away on the occasion

Christmas was celebrated in a festive manner on 22nd December 2011, the closing day.

A Field Trip was organized by the Cultural Club of the vidyalaya on 12.11.2011 in which members of the club visited Padmanabhapuram Palace, the royal residence of the Erstwhile Travancore Empire. Sixty students under the guidance of the club in charge teacher Mr.J.Premkumar, TGT social science spend nearly three hours in the palace and observed about the historical background of the empire and palace with the help of the Archaeological Department of Kerala.

Seminar on ‘Intellectual Property Rights for Inventions and Creations’ 

To create awareness among students about Intellectual Property Rights and allied matters, a seminar was organized jointly by Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom and Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment, Trivandrum on 19th November 2011 in the Resource Room of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm. 
The inaugural session started with invocation and later Shri. C.P. Kumaran, Prinicipal,KV Pattom has welcomed the guests. Dr. Achuth .S. Sankar Nair, Director, Centre for Bioinformatics &Co-ordinator, IPR Cell, University of Kerala,Kariavattom, Trivandrum  inaugurated the programme and delivered  the inaugural address. Dr.K G Ajit Kumar, District Co-ordinator ( National Green Crops), Professor, M G College, Trivandrum and Mr. S.Safeek, PIC-Kerala, KSCSTE addressed the gathering. Mr.N.V.Jyothimohan,PGT of K.V.Pattom.(Programme Coordinator)  proposed the Vote of Thanks.
After the inaugural session, Dr. Achuth S. Sankar Nair, Director, Centre for Bioinformatics &Co-ordinator, IPR Cell, University of Kerala,Kariavattom, Trivandrum  delivered the ‘key note address’ . In his address, he emphasized on being creative and being updated in life with own contributions.
In the technical session followed,  Shri. V.P.Balagangadharan, Brahmaprakash Scientist, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC),Trivandrum  enlightened the audience on the topic  ‘IPR – Tool to protect inventions and creations’. He urged the students to be proactive about protecting the intellectual property of self and others. He answered the questions and doubts raised by participants in the interaction session followed.
There was a written Quiz competition for the participants on IPR and related topics. Master Anand Sreekumar of Loyola School, Sreekaryam is the winner and Master Aravind M R of Kendriya Vidyalaya(Shift 2), Pattom is the First Runner Up and Master Anantha Padmanabhan G of Kendriya Vidyalaya(Shift 2), Pattom is the Second Runner Up. The Winner’s trophies were given away by Shri. C.P. Kumaran, Prinicipal, KV Pattom.  
More than Eighty students from 08 different schools of Trivandrum city attended the programme.


Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom  Shift I and II observed Vigilance Awareness week from 31st October 2011. Several programs were conducted during the week. Shri.Suresh Regional Head of HUDCO       addressed the students of the first shift on 5th November and the students of second shift on 4th November was addressed by Shri. K.V.Joseph Supdt. Of Police, Police Head Quarters and interacted with the students. The speakers emphasized the role of students in constructing a corruption free society and hence the need of imbibing right moral values.
 The Vigilance Awareness week program started off with an oath taking ceremony participated by the teachers of First Shift and second shift on 31.10.2011. The teachers pledged that they would be vigilant against corruption in all forms.
 Throughout the week, various activities were conducted in the Vidyalaya. Two Students of first shift, Sneha Sara Felix and Shobitha Shaji, delivered speech in the morning assembly.   Students of second shift delivered speeches expressing their views on the topic. An inter house debate competition was organised for senior students of first shift on the topic “EDUCATION IS THE ONLY PANACEA FOR THE ERADICATION OF CORRUPTION”.  
 Senior students wrote essay on the topics “Role of Youth in Building a Corruption Free Society/ If I become the Prime Minister of India…(How I would build a corruption free India.) “. Juniors had the topics “Be Vigilant! / The India I would like to live”.
 Further, the students wrote messages and slogans against corruption. The Drama Club is organizing a skit based on the theme Corruption in the Society. The House-wise Display board competition for the month also is based on the theme “children against corruption” for first shift and “Vigilance Awareness” for second shift.


National education day was observed by the first and second shift of the school on 11 November  2011, the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, by paying tribute to the great leader and educationist.  The day was observed by garlanding the photo of  Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.  On the day the students gave speeches discussing his role and importance in the field of education in the morning assembly. 
 The activities in connection with the events have started in the month of September. As per KVS directions entries for the following competitions had been forwarded.

School Level Competitions
1. For class XI – XII a debate was conducted on the topic Education is the only panacea for eradicating corruption in the first shift
2. An elocution competition was organised for students of class VI-X in the first shift.  The topic  was : Role of educational leaders in universalizing education
3. For class XI- Seminar(Project)  Topics- Educate to educare / Right to education
4. For class IX –X Integrity club conducted the following Debate “Education is the only panacea for eradicating corruption .
5. Social Science department conducted elocution completion for class VIII on the topic “Role of Educational leaders in universalizing eduction”
6. The arts department conducted poster competition for class VII to VIII on “National Leaders, Events and Settings”
7. Quiz club organised a quiz competition for classes VI to VIII on the lives of great leaders with special reference to the life of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.


Kendriya vidyalaya Pattom has started a ‘Legal Care Cell’ on 25.10.2011 at 2pm as a part of the Legal literacy programme initiated by Kerala Legal Services Authority. The main objective of the cell is to teach the students of the basic laws of our country and to make them aware of their basic Rights and Duties as well as to give them necessary guidance to overcome various social evils which are likely to influence them. The students will be taught the basic lessons by the legal experts as per the study materials supplied free of cost by the legal services authority. Apart from that, the legal care cell will link the parents, students, school, and experts in various fields as well as the legal services authority to have a direct interaction to spot out the students’ problems and find solutions. The Legal Care cell was inaugurated by Adv.V. Bhuvanendran Nair, panel advocate of the Legal Services Authority and thereafter an interactive session for the parents with the chief guest was organized. Principal Shri. C P Kumaran welcomed the gathering and the teacher coordinator Shri.J.Premkumar highlighted the objectives of the programme. Adv. Sheeba Jafar Sait, Harish Kumar,PTA Vice Chairman, Ajith kumar,secretary to PTA have felicitated the occasion and teacher Mrs V S Jamuna proposed the vote of thanks.

Career On Commerce-Seminar

The School organized a seminar on the topic  “ Career Opportunities in Commerce “ for the XI and XII Commerce students on 20.10.2011. The seminar was presented by the officials of  ‘ ETEN CA ’ , an institution for CA coaching. It was initiated by Educamp Solution Ltd. The Resource Persons Mr. Hentry and Mr. Anand explained various steps to become a CA and option for higher studies and Institutions which offer these courses.

Celebration of ‘ Bal Diwas ‘ cluster level sports meet 

Eight Kendriya Vidyalayas from Trivandrum cluster including KV Kollam and KV Nagercoil participated in the Sports events conducted at KV Pattom on 29.10.2011 ( Saturday). This program was meant for Primary Children under the scheme of strengthening primary education of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. Shri. C.P Kumaran, Principal gave the welcome address in which he enumerated the importance of Physical Education in Primary Children. The Programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Sumam Pillai, General Manager (Finance), BSNL, Kerala Circle. She advised the children to have sound mind from their tender age itself. Principals and HMs for cluster schools were also present.

Many athletics events were conducted and prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners. KV Pattom ( Shift I) emerged as the overall champion, whereas KV Pallipuram came as Runners Up. The event of the day came to a close with the proposel of vote of thanks by Head master Shri. V Joseph, KV Pattom ( Shift II) 


The Celebration Of grandparents day of KV Pattom was conducted on Saturday(15.10.2011) in the School Auditorium in order to honour and respect the Grandparents of Primary children. This programme was undertaken as per the specifications of KVS under Common Minimum Programme of strengthening Primary education. Mr.K. Chandrasekhar Babu , retired IAS Officer and  Dr.Sreedevi  Pediatrician  SUT Hospital were the Chief Guest for the Ist Shift. Shri.Santakumar, Retd. District Forms Officer, Department of Stationary and Publication, Kerala State was the Chief Guest for Shift II. Shri. C.P Kumaran, Principal, KV Pattom welcomed the gathering and reiterated the importance of Grandparents in the life of Primary children. 

Grandparents witnessed the eye-catching performances of the children of Primary Section and enjoyed their presence. Prizes were awarded to grandparents who won in the games and they gave their impressions too.  Later Shri. V Joseph, Headmaster of Primary section proposed vote of thanks for the success of this programme.
A Seminar conducted on the theme ' Cities and Climate Change' on the topic ' The Thiruvananthapuram I wish to see when I grow up'. A painting competition also held in connection with the celebation and Bikram Tudu secured 3rd position.
 SPIC MACAY programme

 National integration is a proclaimed objective of Kendriya Vidyalaya sangathan and exposing it’s students to the cultural mosaic of our incredible country is one of the top agenda of its planned activities. In this direction, a lecture demonstration programme on MANIPURI dance was arranged for the Students of KV, Pattom on 24-9-2011 & 26-9-2011 by SPIC MACAY, Kerala Chapter. Padmasri Darshana Jhaveri ji and her team of six artists performed a variety of dance forms of classical Manipuri dance. It was a high quality programme of graceful expressions, enthralling music and mesmerizingly synchronized movements.

Seminar on Preservation of OZONE -Phasing out of HCFC - unique opportunity

World Ozone Day was celebrated as part of International year of chemistry 2011 celebrations on 24/9/2011 at Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom. The programme was jointly organised by Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom, Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment. The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr.K.K.Ramachandran, Member Secretary, KSCSTE in a solemn function presided over by Dr.Kamalashan Kokkale Joint Director, KSCSTE, Dr.K.G.Ajit Kumar, District co-ordinator, NGC , Dr.AJith Prabhu, Joint Director, KSCSTE and Dr.C.P.Aravindakshan were among the guests of honour and Sri.C.P.Kumaran, Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom, welcomed the guests.

During the seminar Dr.Kamalashan Kokkale, dealt in detail on the topic- Earth’s Atmosphere and Problems and Dr.C.P.Aravindakshan on the topic-Chemistry of Ozone. A district level inter-school quiz competition was also conducted in which different schools from Trivandrum district participated.             Dr.A. Bijukumar , H.O.D Aquatic Biology, University of Kerala, was the quiz master. Anandapadmanabhan and Aravind of Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom, Shift-II were the winners and Ashuthosh B Sai and Harita of Kendriya Vidyalya Pattom Shift-1 were the runner-up. Onam Celebration 2011

Onam celebrated on 03.09.2011 in both shifts. Students and teachers participated in various activities and Payazam was distributed to all on the same day.

Hindi fortnight Celebration (143.09.11- 28.09.11)

School is celebrating “Hindi fortnight” from 14th September to 28th September 2011. The principal shri. C.P Kumaran inaugurated the celebration during the school assembly. The Vice Principa shri. Manoj Kumar Misra  and Primary teacher Shri. Mukesh Kumar were delivered speeches to students. Cultural programmes in  Hindi were conducted by Students.

Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom conducted Chennai Regional Football completion from 24th Aug 2011 to 27th August 2011. The tournament was Inaugurated by Smt. JyothiNir, Principal KV AFS Akkulam. 10 teams under 14 category and 10 teams under 19 category were participated
