2.       NCERT’s National Competition on Innovative Practices and Experiments in Schools and Teacher Education Institutes 2010-'11, Award.

ii) To support student-teacher collaborative learning practices. iii) To facilitate information sharing and knowledge creation. iv) To cultivate reading habit and the love towards books, reading and libraries. v) To develop information and media literacy skills. vi)To encourage critical thinking, innovation and creativity. vii) To reach out to the new generation users of the library at their own space and time. viii) To make learning more enjoyable.

Became the first online academic social network of students and teachers with more than 1000 members from all over the country.

The project invite the students to face a book in reality than following or befriending with fake profiles and unknown faces.  Objectives:

(i) To make them aware of the importance of library and information centers (ii)To make them aware of the resources and services available in the library (iii) To develop the essential skills to find, evaluate and use information available in the library in different formats (iv)To develop reading habit (v)To induce them the ability to appreciate creativity and knowledge

The Face a Book component consists of a variety of student and library oriented activities based on the core information literacy curriculum developed under the InfoLit India project.

Ravindra, Director, NCERT and Dr. Shakuntala Nagpal, HOD, DEE, NCERT.

Mr. B.Surendran, Librarian, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Shift II, Pattom, has received the Award from the Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri Ommen Chandy in appreciation of the commendable achievements towards Energy Conservation and Management in the category of INDIVIDUALS in the State of Kerala during the year 2011-2012.  He has done a project “The role of libraries in conservation of energy with special reference to the utilization of Solar Energy”. The award has been instituted by the Department of Power, Government of Kerala through the Energy Management Centre – Kerala and received the memento and certificate on the 14th day of December 2012 to mark the National Energy Conservation Day.

Malnourished Infancy

To create awareness about Malnutrition  and information to avoid it. The required diet to lead a healthy life and the ill effects of junk foods. Lack of exercise and physical activity  leads to Obesity.
